During the summer we have been working on a completely new church website, working with RealPoint Website design. Details will be published shortly before we go live in a few weeks time. In the meantime, sadly, we have had to suspend our old website, and in the interim period we will rely on this blog site to keep you all up to date with postings of news items, social and religious events and other publicity etc. To this effect, see below images of our current Weekly Events Sheet.
If you would like a copy of the weekly Sunday Service sheet with information of events sent to you each week, pleas email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
Last Thursday, 9th October 2014 at 6pm saw the LICENSING of the Reverend Canon John Wallace Blair as the new Chaplain to Holy Trinity Church, Funchal
The Celebrant was the Area Dean of Portugal with Madeira
the Reverend Robert John Bates
Here is Canon Blair (bottom right) with Rev.d Robert (second left top row) and some of the guests of honour including Bishop Emeritus of Madeira Teodoro de Faria and Sn. Paulo Cafofo, President of the Câmara of Funchal
It was a truly splendid and happy occasion.
Hopefully we will have some more photos to add later…
At the risk of sounded self-congratulatory, we would be delighted if our blog readers would take a moment to look at the results from a recent visit to us from The Mystery Worshipper on their website http://www.shipoffools.com .
Once on their homepage, if you click on the heading Mystery Worshipper (top left) and scroll down the page a bit you will come to a full review with photos of a visit we received incognito a couple of weeks ago titled Warm welcome, cold feet at Holy Trinity, Funchal, Madeira
We are very grateful to the mystery person, quoted as being Werburga of Chester, and also very pleased they enjoyed their visit so much. As for socks, we would just say that this is the coolest month of our year at about 18c, but their point is taken and we will scratch our heads to come up with a possible solution! As for the lack of a choir, we are currently trying to address that as well, and can we take this opportunity to say that we are looking for volunteers to come forward to help us create one. All enquiries to the church administrator via email@example.com. However, we are very lucky here in Madeira to be able to welcome so many holiday makers into our Sunday congregations and must say they invariably sing with enthusiasm and gusto ! Thank you all so much for your support.
PLEASE NOTE: we advise you to arrange to arrive early to take your seats to allow the service to begin on time. This service is usually well attended and vehicle access restricted.
